Decree 743/2024: Modifications to the digital signature system

How will the digital signature work?, in what situations?, who can do it? We tell you in this brief review.

On August 20, 2024, the National Government made official the changes in the Digital Signature system, the procedure that allows knowing if a digital document is authentic and has not been altered, and which has been in force since 2001.“It opens the way for you to be able to sign any document remotely from your home or office”, said the Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State.

We tell you in 2 Steps what the changes are:

  • Identity verification or the request for any other data considered relevant for the issuance, renewal or revocation of the digital certificate can be done in person or remotely, using biometric authentication factors.
  • The physical presence of the applicant for a digital certificate will not be an essential condition for the completion of the procedures necessary for the issuance, renewal or revocation of the corresponding certificate.

    • This recent regulation contributes significantly to the consolidation of a safe and reliable environment for the use of digital signatures in Argentina, since it facilitates the transition towards a more digital economy, which will result in the optimization of administrative processes while promoting their transparency and efficiency.
